Speaker, author and adventurer James Raffan will be our guest artist this fall for Art After Dark, Saturday the 26th of September. For “Arctic Faces and Places” will be showing canvas prints of photographs taken by James Raffan as he toured the North, researching his book “Circling the Midnight Sun, culture and change in the invisible arctic”. They are chilly images of polar landscapes and inuit life.
James Raffan himself will be absent from our event on Friday, and with good reason: he will be discussing environmental change in the Arctic Circle at the Kingston Writer’s Festival alongside singer-songwriter Sarah Harmer, and authors Trevor Herriot and Diana Beresford-Kroeger from 7:30 until 9:00pm. Learn more about the Festival’s “The Wild Within and Without” event on the Festival Event Page (scroll down to event #30).
