It was definitely chilly, this Thursday night, which made it especially comfortable for our visitors to bask in the sunny paintings and presence of our guest artist, Roz Bechtel. We'd lots of food, artistic energy, and music provided by classical-jazz duo Billise Force.

The rain came down hard halfway during this spring's Art After Dark tour, but it did not deter the waterproofed art lovers who came to soak in Debra Tate-Sears' most recent, exquisitely detailed and slightly moody watercolours.

SPRING OPEN HOUSE

Our West End store has partnered with Camera Kingston and we now offer a pick-up and drop-off location for most Camera Kingston Services, including the digital kiosks.

Our spring open house celebrated this new partnership and provided a meet and greet evening for all of our valued clients and members.


We had 3 speakers:

7:30 A Camera Kingston Representative who discussed a variety of interesting printing options open for photography.

8:00 Corrie Holmes, Manager of Kingston Frameworks Bayridge, described the most important considerations when choosing framing for your photos.

8:30 Corey Lablans, top prize winner of the 30th Photo Opportunity Contest, "Market News- Here's How!" photo magazine, spoke.

CUBAFEST KINGSTON

Our opening night for our guest Cuban artist Rafael Rojas Doval took place on this Sunday, and with it came delicious appetizers, lively music and some spontaneous dancing shots, as seen on the right.

A Night of colourful Conversation and Fine Art, a fabulous fete to mark the beginning of Geoff Smith's tenure in our gallery. We'd in excess of a hundred guests in our store to aid in making it memorable(!!).

BRIDAL SHOW

Our booth this year featured a set of framed snapshots with a signing mat, which acted on Sunday as both guestbook and photographic album; Randy DeKleine-Stimpson's Wedding portraits; and Florence Niven's fused glass jewelry, now in our store. Congratulations to our draw winners!

Our seminar (hosted by Frameworks Bayridge's Corries and Chantel) featured a discussion on Design as it applies to framing 3-dimensional objects, using your keepsakes to tell a story and a spirited Q&A session.

ART AFTER DARK

PAST EVENT, SEPTEMBER 25 2008

The first Art After Dark art gallery Tour on Thursday evening (Sept 25th) went picture perfect, with chocolate biscuits and fruits on hand, and an equally delectable slate-tile stoop underfoot (it went in earlier in the week)- not to mention the exposition of our guest artist Christoph Fischer's photographs of topical fall and winter vistas. Come on down and drink the latter in, as they'll be hanging on our gallery's walls only until the end of the month (October 30th)!
